We describe 14 patients with distinctive tumor of the kidney retrieved from 4500 kidney tumors in our Tumor Registry SPAU. All cases were characterized by a composition of epithelial and stromal elements, which formed cystic and solid growth pattern. Eleven patients were females and in 3 patients the sex was unknown. Age range was 16-75 years (mean 55,5 years). All cases belong to the newly defined entity "mixed epithelial and stromal tumors of the kidney". A regular check-up of the patients with these tumors is a sufficient management of the patients and no additional adjunctive therapy is considered to be necessary, because malignant transformation of these tumors is an extremely rare event.
