The results of the study Kapros in the region of Olomouc

Results: There were 2,585 probands. A total of 85 GPs were involved who examined 1,370 (53%) men. Further, 32 urologists from the Olomouc region participated in the study. They examined 1,215 (47%) males. In 101 of them, prostate biopsy was indicated and performed. Prostate cancer was detected in 24 (4.8%) cases. Smokers and obese males had a significantly lower level of PSA (by 0.1 ng/ml).
