Nechanská B, Nedbálek A, Pabišta R. Thrombosis of the superficial dorsal vein of the penis (Penile Mondor's Disease). Penile Mondor disease is a rare thrombosis of the superficial dorsal vein of the penis. It is characterized by a palpable subcutaneous mass at the root of the penis or circumferential mass near the coronary groove. The aetiology is usually unknown. Diagnosis is based on medical history and physical examination and confirmed by ultrasonography with Doppler colour flow mapping. It is a benign disease and therapy is conservative in most cases. The aim of this work is to summarise the information about this disease and present a case report of penile Mondor disease associated with congenital thrombophilia.
