Navrátil P, Novák I, Navrátil P st, Hoffmann P, Kříž P. The significance of MRI in diagnosing penile fracture in a case report of a 16-year-old boy. Penile fracture is the rupture of one or both of the tunica albuginea, the fibrous coverings that envelop the penis's corpora cavernosa. Diagnosis can usually be determined from a patient's history and physical examination, but can be supplemented by a sonographic examination of the penis. In uncertain cases magnetic resonance imaging can be performed, which, if available, can display the defect in the tunica albuginea with high precision.
