Right sided robot assisted ureter reimplantation with Boari flap

Ces Urol 2020, 24(4):244-246

Schraml J, Hora M, Hlavička M, Broul M. Right sided robot assisted ureter reimplantation with Boari flap. Introduction: Surgical treatment of an iatrogenic lesion of the distal ureter using reimplantation eventually including a Boari urinary bladder flap was performed openly or, more recently, laparoscopically. Robotically assisted laparoscopy seems to be the optimal choice for simplifying the mini-invasive design. This video presents a robotic reimplantation of the ureter with a Boari flap. File: In the period from 1/2019 to 6/2020, there were 10 of these surgeries (all iatrogenic lesions of ureter during pelvic surgery) at the department of the main...

Possibilities of using prostate specific membrane antigen (PSMA) ligands in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer

Ces Urol 2020, 24(4):247-260 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2020035

Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging of prostate (mpMR) or hybrid imaging using positron emission tomography and computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging (PET/CT, PET/MR) entered into common practice in diagnostics. They have proven to be successful in diagnostics, but also in detection of biochemical recurrence. Due to the low specificity, but also the sensitivity, especially at low prostate specific antigen (PSA) level in the biochemical relapse (BCR) PSA ≤ 1 ug/l, new radiotracers are sought to improve diagnostics and then to conduce to the correct treatment decision. Given the fact that the overexpression of PSMA on prostate...

An introduction to urogenital fistulae: incidence, etiology, classification, symptomatology and how we diagnose them

Prouza A, Tikhonova VL. An introduction to urogenital fistulae: incidence, etiology, classification, symptomatology and how we diagnose them. The aim of this text is to introduce the topic of urogenital fistulae to the reader. Whereas obstructed labour is the most common cause of fistula formation in the developing countries, it is a quite rare complication in the developed world, where it usually occurs as a result of an unrecognized intraoperative injury of the urinary tract, mainly so during hysterectomy. Pelvic radiotherapy and inflammatory disease are some of the less frequent causes of fistula formation in the developed countries. The presence...

Ces Urol 2020, 24(4):277-283 | DOI: 10.48095/cccu2020032

Objective: The aim of this study is to find out the occurrence and the results of surgical treatment for local recurrence of renal cell carcinoma. Materials and methods: Our retrospective study includes all patients operated and followed-up for local recurrence of renal cell carcinoma from January 2007 to March 2020. The diagnosis of local recurrence was based on CT scan at the follow-up. At the time of primary tumor surgery, the histological type, degree of differentiation, oncological stage, size and location of the tumor were analyzed. At the time of local recurrence surgery, the time since primary tumor surgery and histological findings were analyzed....

Juhász Á, Matějková M, Záleský M, Belej K. Atypical smooth muscle neoplasia of the prostate of uncertain malignant potential - leiomyoma/leimyosarcoma of the prostate. Both prostate leiomyoma and leiomyosarcoma are extremely rare mesenchymal prostate tumors. The prognosis and therapy of these diseases is however significantly different. We present a case of a 54-year-old man who was found to have a paraprostatic lesion with low prostate specific antigen during a rectal examination. Transrectal prostate biopsy was performed, followed by pelvic magnetic resonance imaging and rectoscopy. None of the examinations confirmed the presence of malignant cells...

Mlynarčík M, Trávníček I, Pitra T, Kacerovská D, Hora M. Case report of giant condyloma acuminatum (Buschke-Löwenstein tumor). We present a case report of giant condyloma acuminatum (Buschke-Löwenstein tumor). HPV (Human Papillomavirus) related lesion about the size of 25 cm was treated by wide radical excision. Buschke-Löwenstein tumors are classified as premalignat lesions of the perigenital area cause local destruction of tissues with the posibility of malignant trasnformation in half of the cases
