Ces Urol 2021, 25(4):231-235

Kočvara R, Sedláček J, Drlík M. Laparoscopic transposition of crossing vessels ("vascular hitch ") in ureteropelvic junction obstruction - a case report. Aim of the study: Crossing vessels of the lower renal pole are found in 10-15 % of children with ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction, and in more than half of older children and adolescents (2). The obstruction, caused by external pressure of the vessels on the UPJ or proximal ureter, is often intermittent and manifests by recurrent and even colic pain. In an acute condition, we can detect a high grade hydronephrosis that may disappear after resolution of the acute episode. The aim of this video...

Řezáč J, Čapoun O, Soukup V. Serum oncomarkers for prostate cancer. Prostate cancer (PC) is one of the most diagnosed oncological diseases. An integral part of the diagnostic process is detection of oncomarkers, which we measure in blood serum, urine, or tissue samples. In clinical practice, we most often utilize serum oncomarkers, especially Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) or its derivatives free PSA, PSA Doubling Time, PSA Velocity and PSA Density. To make the indication of a prostate biopsy more accurate, we can use other tests, such as Prostate Health Index (PHI). Another commercially available alternative is Four-kallikrein Panel (4K). Among the...

Dolejšová O, Bendová B, Kouba J, Heindereich F, Hora M. Urogenital system trauma in children and adolescents. Material and method: In the period from December 2012 to May 2021, a total of 72 children aged 0-19 were treated in our hospital. We retrospectively evaluated the cause of the injury, the extent of the trauma, the need for hospitalization and the method of treatment. In renal trauma, the severity of the injury was assessed according to the AAST classification (American Association for the Surgery of Trauma) and the presence of hematuria. Iatrogenic injuries were not part of our cohort. Results: 62 boys and 10 girls were injured. Injuries of...

Bloudková L, Klézl P, Baitler T, Grilli-Wagnerová M, Grill R. Traumatic dislocation of testes. Traumatic dislocation of testes is a rare type of genital injury, which occurs mostly following motor vehicle accidents, particularly motorcycle accidents due to a blunt impact of the scrotum and perineum on the fuel tank of the motorcycle. This injury is often referred to as "fuel tank injury" in the literature. An early diagnosis using ultrasonography and CT scan and immediate surgical management are of key importance for preserving of the function of the dislocated testis. Kaplán O, Vobořil V, Krška Z, Hanuš T. Retroperitoneal liposarcoma - a case report. We are presenting the case of retroperitoneal tumor, which is a tumor with a high malignancy potential. Recommended therapy of these tumors is radical surgery, which is often difficult due to its anatomy and frequent advanced stage presentation. That is the reason why it has to be provided in specialized centers. According to the STRASS study there is no benefit of combined neoadjuvant radiotherapy with radical surgical approach compared to surgical therapy alone.
