Ces Urol 2020, 24(1):15-17
Matějková M. Robotic-assisted vesicovaginal fistula repair: step by step. Introduction: Vesicovaginal fistula is a pathological communication between the bladder and the vagina. It most commonly occurs as a postpartum complication in developing countries and as an iatrogenic postoperative complication in developed countries. The presented video illustrates the surgical procedure in individual steps. Material and methods: In the period from 11/2005 to 05/2019, a total of 15 patients underwent robotic-assisted vesicovaginal fistula repair using the da Vinci S and Si systems at our centre. All the patients developed a fistula after previous gynaecological...

Adamcová V, Bartáková L, Čermák P, Zachoval R, Hrbáček J. Multiresistant gram negative bacteria in urology. Gram-negative bacteria are the most common pathogens causing urinary tract infections. The incidence of bacterial resistance is increasing worldwide. Prevention and treatment of infections caused by resistant bacteria are becoming a vast medical, social and financial problem. The biggest problems are health care-associated infections and infections related to invasive lines. Knowledge of resistance mechanisms and local epidemiological situation help with effective initiation of empirical antibiotic therapy.

In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of defined hereditary syndromes, some of which may predispose to kidney cancer. Hereditary renal cell carcinoma syndromes are often suggested by early age of onset, family history of kidney cancer, multifocal or bilateral lesions and the presence of other extrarenal lesions typical for the respective syndrome. The most common encountered syndromes are von Hippel Lindau, Birt-Hogg-Dubé, hereditary papillary renal cell carcinoma,...

Šamal V, Richter I, Paldus V, Jirásek T, Mečl J. Incidence of prostate cancer in radical cystoprostatectomy specimen. Histopathological characteristics of tumor and the influence of the method of histological processing on the occurrence of incidental prostate cancer. Aim: Radical cystoprostatectomy (RCP) as a surgical procedure in the treatment of invasive bladder cancer requires a high degree of radicality. Surgical techniques sparing prostate apex or capsule involve the risk of residual urothelial carcinoma or incidental prostate cancer (IKP). The aim of this work is to assess the occurrence, histopathological characteristics of IKP and the influence...

Pavlosek T, Hanzliková P, Hořava V. Our experience with MRI/TRUS software fusion for targeted prostate biopsies. We would like to present the benefits of the MRI/TRUS fusion software targeted at prostate biopsies and demonstrate our practical experience with the fusion software over the course of two years. All patients with PSA < 20 ng/ml underwent three-parametric prostate MRI, they were classified by the PI-RADS v.2 system. The fusion was carried out with the ultrasound device BK Medical Flex Focus 400 with transrectal probe 8808 - 10Hz. We present a group of examined patients and their histological results, where we demonstrate the effect of...

Novák I, Kacerovský M, Dusilová‑Sulková S, Malý J. Pregnancy in patients post bowel segment bladder augmentation - our experience. Pregnancy is not contraindicated in women with severe congenital urogenital anomalies after lower urinary tract (LUT) reconstruction with bladder augmentation. Natural pregnancy is possible. Although the number of pregnant women after bladder augmentation surgery is increasing, there is sparse published information about this topic. We analyze 4 cases in our paper retrospectively from diverse points of view - urologists', nephrologists', gynecologists' and neonatologists'. The patients after LUT reconstruction require...

We present a case report of gigantic recurrent angiomyolipoma of the horseshoe kidney in a young patient with suspected tuberous sclerosis syndrome. The condition was solved by repeated cytoreductive surgery in combination of systemic treatment with mTOR inhibitors.
